Poncho
Poncho is an 18-year-old mustang captured in Callaghan Range, Nevada.
In May of 2011 Bobby went to pick up the two mustangs that he had adopted and realized that the gelding wasn’t available because of injury. The Mustang Heritage Foundation offered a replacement horse, Poncho. Bobby wasn’t very impressed with him but decide to take a chance on him. Right away a bond was formed, and Poncho became part of the family. Bobby doesn’t think he could have gotten a better horse. He believes he is a gift from God. This little mustang has quite the personality and has been a lot of fun.
Poncho did very well in the 2011 Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover, placing 4th in the finals, and he was voted Fan Favorite with twice as many text votes as anyone else!
Poncho has performed at hundreds of rodeos and horse shows since that first makeover, and he is going strong.
Maypop
Maypop is an 18 year old mustang captured in Tobin Range, Nevada.
After picking up Maypop from Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma and starting the bonding process with him, Bobby became alarmed at the unusual aggressive kicking that Maypop displayed when he was startled by something coming up behind him. Scar tissue in both eyes limited his vision and so he would kick out at anything he was not sure about. That’s how he got his name, because he “may pop ya” if he was startled. Since then, Maypop has become the perfect horse through bonding and the special trust that he developed with Bobby. He is willing and gentle and an special part of our family.
Bobby and Maypop won the 2012 Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover and were voted Fan Favorite.
Maypop is enjoying life on the farm with the other lawn ornaments.
